Avilamycin has an antibacterial effect mainly on Gram-positive bacteria and a growth promoting effect on chickens (Including Broilers) and pigs.
It is used to increase rate of weight gain and impoved feed efficiency in broiler chickens, pigs.
Prevention and treatment of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens in broiler chickens.
[Mode of action] As an oligosaccharide antibiotic, Avilamycin principally have antibacterial effect on Gram-positive bacteria. It can help improve the absorption of glucose in the intestines of pigs and chickens, increase the production of volatile fatty acids, and reduce the lactic acid production, thereby promoting the growth of pigs and chickens. Avilamycin clinically can be used to prevent and treat Necrotic Enteritis associated with clostridium perfringens in broilers and provide effective assist control for the occurrence and deterioration of E. coli-induced diarrhea in weaned piglets, while reducing the production of surface adhesion of fimbriae of Escherichia coli; The reduction of bacteria’s adhesive fimbriae inhibits their adhesion to intestinal mucosa and alleviates intestinal damage, thereby controlling the incidence of diarrhea and improving the growth performance index of livestock. Thanks to its oral administration, Avilamycin is hardly absorbed by the intestines, which brings about an extremely low residue in animal tissues.
