Akkermansia Muciniphila AMP018 powder is produced through ProtechTM technology,  It is a probiotic freeze-dried powder that contains Akkermansia Muciniphila. ProtechTM is a unique coating and protection technology to ensure the high stability of the product.

The product is in powder form, free from visible impurities, and the color ranges from white to yellow.

Akkermansia Muciniphila was a Gram-negative, strictly anaerobic, non-motile, non-spore-forming, oval-shaped bacterium that could grow singly and in pairs.When grown on mucin medium, cells produced a capsule and were found to aggregate. Strain MucT could grow on a limited number of sugars, including N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylgalactosamine and glucose, but only when a protein source was provided and with a lower growth rate and final density than on mucin.
Akkermansia muciniphila exists in about 90% of healthy people, occupies about 1% to 3% of the fecal microbiota, colonizes the gut in the first year of life, decreases with age and deterioration of health. It can degrade mucins to produce beneficial products, such as short-chain fatty acids that contribute to the growth of other bacteria and maintain healthy mucus turnover (similar to many probiotics); and also maintain microbial balance (similar to many probiotics) by competing with other mucin-degradable bacteria and inhibiting their overgrowth.
