Mechanism of Action

Hyoscine-N-Butylbromide (also known as Scopolamine Butylbromide) is a synthetic anticholinergic and antispasmodic agent. It exerts its therapeutic effects by blocking the action of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in smooth muscle, thereby reducing muscle spasms and cramps. This mechanism is particularly effective in relieving spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, and urinary tract.

Application

Hyoscine-N-Butylbromide Injection is used to treat a variety of conditions characterized by smooth muscle spasms, including:

Gastrointestinal Spasms: Such as colic, dyspepsia, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
